Loaves and Fishes Biloxi is looking for local business and organizational sponsorships for our Inaugural Hustle for the Hungry 5K event on August 15, 2020. The event takes on a whole new meaning for us as we are trying to raise enough money to purchase a permanent home. If our current building is sold Loaves and Fishes will have to close.
Registration for the run will begin at 8 a.m. at Loaves and Fishes, 610 Water Street, Biloxi, with the race starting (9 a.m.) and ending there, as well. Donations will be collected from Feb. 1 to 9 a.m. day of event, and an award will be given to the runner who raises the most money.
This event is open to all ages and each participant will receive a t-shirt and a medal when they cross the finish line. We will give awards to top finisher for men and women and each age group. Local music favorite, Gram Rea, will perform until 1 p.m. and food and drink will be available for purchase.
Loaves and Fishes is a 501(c)(3) and community kitchen feeding the hungry and homeless. We are currently serving 4,500- 5,000 meals per month. During this event, we will also recognize and show appreciation to our volunteers who – along with community supporters – make it possible for us to continue feeding the hungry.
